ran 9 km this morning. It wasn't too bad but that's all I had time for. Went to the conference in at Melb Uni. Did a circuit workshop which was really more of a workout than an instruction and then a pilates with bands class which was terrific. At least I did do some exercise today!!

I don't think I'm doing nearly enough exercise to train for this half marathon- but maybe the next month will see a dramatic increase! Went to the gym on Wednesday again- did 25 mins on the treadmill ( 4 min circuits with increasing demand) then 10 mins on the rower. Had a leg workout but not much else and then a yoga class which was loooovvvverrrrly!!
Saturday I need to do a shortenend run again as I'm going to the conference this weekend to learn some more fitness stuff. I'll try to run the 9k at least

Finally made it to gym on Wednesday. Only had a shortish time to work out before going to yoga. Went on treadmill for 10 mins ( walk and run- but fast!!) then rower for 10. After that did leg work out and finally yoga. I'm quite stiff today and I think it's that rower! It nearly killed me and it was only 10 mins!!!

Did the 9k run and 9k run/walk. Ran with a friend who had ( the day before) run 41k for her marathon training. She was nice and slow! It was great doing it with her- made the time pass quickly and I did really well. Could have continued on longer. Knee and hip seem to be quite good too.
Next Saturday is 9k run and 12k walk/run. After that I'm going to cut back on the length - 6k run and 6k ru/walk and increase the speed or time of running. Hope this works. At the moment I'm a bit hit or miss with this training but at least it's a start. I'll see how it turns out.
Hope to get to gym maybe tomorrow morning but def tomorrow night.

I started this week really well, especially as it was the first day back after the holidays. Went to gym at 6am and ran/walked on treadmill for 25mins then did some leg work. Also went in evening to a cardio/circuit class. Unfortunately thats been about all this week! A short and slowish walk at school on Tues and school circuit in afternoon - which isn't really a work out for me. Tonight I went out for dinner instead of gym with my daughter and tomorrow night out for dinner too:(((((
Saturday I'm going to run 9km and walk/run 9km. I better start drinking lots of water as that seems to help. Diet hasn't been as bad this week as usual.

I did the run/walk thing like I said I was going to- very pleased with myself cos it really was a slog! There was a group of anglers with their barby going at 7am and the delicious smell of sausages and onions (so cruel!!) Each time I passed them they yelled out encouragement and promised a 'sanger'. One lap of the lake they actually met me at a junction with the 'sanger'!! Spoke to them after and they were really nice ( Didn;t have the eats- I never eat sausages, eggs or bacon- just enjoy the aroma!)
Their encouragement did help though and did a lot to relieve the boredom!
I think I'll try and keep 9km as the base run and just extend the run/walk. It was interesting that it took me the same time to run 9 and run/walk 3 as it did to run 6 and run/walk 6km!
